Ruined greenhouse in Guernsey speaks volumes about its past

The Channel Island of Guernsey has historically been known for its flowers and tomatoes.

Laterally, these industries have withered and old derelict greenhouses have been left behind as a very visible reminder of this heritage.

It’s a very evocative image and somehow the dramatic sky reinforced that sense of history when I took this photo. It has the feel of a post-industrial landscape, although it is of course a post-agricultural situation.
